When generating 3dlut measured using alternative observers, we need to use the correct alternative observer white point in the source profile because the included source profiles are based on cie1931.

My question is what do we do for the primary values in the source profile? For example, rec709 source profile.

Do we leave the primaries as is? Do we calculate new primaries based on the alternative observer white profile? Is calculating even possible??

I think that this question should be in ArgyllCMS maillist.

If you are using alt obsserver just for whitepoint and profilling was done keeping that white (form alt observer) but 1931 2degree obs , then just generate synth rec709 with CIE 1931 2 degree alt xy coords for your white (abs col intent).
