Hi All,
Very new to this, so apologies if this is obvious to some.
I have a Dell U4323QE which I purchased in part as it claims 100% sRGB and 98% DCI-P3 gamut coverage, however my Xrite i1 Display pro just reported 96.7% sRGB and 71.5% DCI-P3.
Prior to calibration I reset the monitor to defaults, cleaned the screen and killed as much ambient light in the room as I could (HoldPeak HP-881D Lux Meter recorded about 2.5 LUX). My settings other than defaults for DisplayCAL were:
- Settings: sRGB
- Correction: “Spectral: LCD PFS Phosphor WLED Family” then I tried with a user submitted “Matrix: i1 DisplayPro, ColorMunki Display& Dell, DELL U4323QE by 4KM (i1 Pro 2)”
- during measurement I had to bump the blues down to 92% and red to 99%, brightness increased by 1% to 76%.
Are these roughly expected results, or should I be expecting something closer to manufacturer claims? Are there any common pitfalls in calibration preparation that might cause this sort of gap between measured and claimed values?

To fix the problem, set the gamut to native.
2025-08-10 at 13:02 #144179Hi All,
Very new to this, so apologies if this is obvious to some.
I have a Dell U4323QE which I purchased in part as it claims 100% sRGB and 98% DCI-P3 gamut coverage, however my Xrite i1 Display pro just reported 96.7% sRGB and 71.5% DCI-P3.
EU Dell store says 95% sRGB: It is not a widegamut by manufecturer claims
Also as stated MANY times do not use CCMX matrix corrections unless you made them.
So if we take a look at colorimeter database and look for CCSS:
https://colorimetercorrections.displaycal.net/?get&type=ccss&manufacturer_id=DEL&display=DELL%20U4323QE&instrument=i1%20DisplayPro%2C%20ColorMunki%20Display%2C%20Spyder4&html=1
And plot that spectral power distribution we can see it’s and old school White LED sRGB only. Recalibrate using this correction or generic White LED one.-

2025-08-11 at 0:56 #144228Wow, I never noticed that the manual states a color gamut of ” sRGB 95% (min)” before. When purchasing, I’d only been referring to the product pages. The tech specs in the product page for the Dell U4323QE clearly state “100% Rec 709, 100% sRGB, 98% DCI-P3”. I feel rather ripped off by this as photo & video editing were among the primary reasons for the monitor upgrade. Is this sort of falsification of specs common with manufacturers?
Thanks for the tips. I’ll recalibrate using the suggested correction.

2025-08-12 at 17:55 #144240Is this sort of falsification of specs common with manufacturers?
As said before EU sore from Dell show actual specifications for that model. The store, not manual of other technical document.
So IMHO it seems like a typo in AU store. If you trully want a P3 display try to contact them for rerturn and refund ans show them the typo in their store.
Other that return money back stores usually do not offer any compensation for typos, since most of them state “specifications can change without advice” or something like that.
2025-08-13 at 0:12 #144256Thanks, this is definitely what has happened. I spent a few hours with Dell AU support yesterday and they finally agreed that there was an error on the website after looking at the manual (served from US site) and the US and EU web stores which have the correct gamut figures. Took a bit of discussion to get them to accept a return request on the monitor for a full refund, fortunately we have decent consumer protection laws which nullifies such company disclaimers as “specifications can change without advice”. I see this morning that the product page on the AU site have been updated already to reflect the correct monitor specs, the old version can still be seen in the wayback machine from a month ago.
