    Hello Everyone,

    I’m trying to calibrate an EIZO EV3237 with a Calibrite Display Pro HL. I tried the calibrate software which gave me a really weird result and DisplayCAL (DC) with different settings. I think I need help.

    According to this displayspecifications.com the display is W-LED with a Samsung panel. As I understand, the Display Pro HL is a i1 Display Pro (automatically detected by DC). I tried different settings but I not quite happy with the results. White does not look really white to my eyes. Settings can be seen in the attached screenshots.

    The display has adjustment for color (R, G, B individual gain), saturation, hue Gamma and color temperature (can be set to some Kelvin and “off”). Brightness of course. I switched off Eco.

    Are my settings in DC correct? What do you recommend to set?

    What? be specific.

    Use only RGB gain for tweaking whitepoint and brightness. All other to defaults.

    Are my settings in DC correct? What do you recommend to set?

    Options, show advanced options. Then on profiling tab, profile type “single curve + matrix” with black point compensation.
    Other settings as you did on screenshots.

    XYZLUT on a well behaved display like this one is supposed to be will store independent 3 TRC created from measurements (instead of an idealized 3 equal TRC) and with the addition on the limited bitdepth calculations on some color managed software can cause banding in a display that without calibration (or only with VCGT applied and no color management) does not have banding.
    So if display is well behaved, keep profile simple.

    Thank you very much. I did  “single curve + matrix” with black point compensation as recommended by you. While subjectively it is not a huge difference it looks much better now. I think since I did the calibration I have more attention to colors now. I even see the world around my different. Notice more color casts in clouds for example.

    You are talking about the settings? First all at default, then different white points. As I understand adjust to 6500 K is the default for most applications.

    So if display is well behaved, keep profile simple.
