    Hi everyone,

I have a Samsung LS27A600U and it has no real HDR profile and looks very washed out. The windows HDR calibration tool does not help much. I was wondering if anyone has a profile I could try?

    Thanks a million.

HDR profiles aren’t *really* a thing yet outside of the ones created by the windows tool (and they’re not really true profiles either). I’m working on that (and I need help – programmers – contact me). The reason things look washed out is because windows is currently designed to map most things (basically any app that doesn’t report itself as HDR aware) to sRGB while in HDR mode. They should be mapping to a user-selectable gamma instead. There’s no *good* fix for this other than to file a bug report with microsoft. Even a good profile won’t fix this. There are hacks available on github that will make SDR in HDR correct, but they screw up HDR in the process

Thanks for the reply and the great info, it’s frustrating for sure.
