I can’t seem to find a direct answer for this, but maybe I’m just an idiot. It seems that it is recommended to choose reference mode rather than enhanced, which makes sense, but what doesn’t make sense to me is that it says it then ignores any changes from the OS or any other software, so would that mean that display cal profile loading is just ignored and any calibration would be ignored? I’m just a bit confused by that. Just trying to to override any color enhancement adjustments to get the best calibration I can. Thank you in advance for any help.

It is the same at defaults.   You can see cyan peak in brightness when you change vibrance so you know 50 is the right spot.   HDMI is digital and is calibrated at the factory.   Defaults are right.   Panels are slightly different sometimes.  Reference mode makes the LUT linear and not a displaycal LUT loaded.   The color programs still know the info in the profile and use the color ramp.  It could use the LUT if it wanted to and programed that way.    HCFR disables the lut but reference does too for programs that do not.    It is just a option you need to know when to use it and not.    If the screen is good without a LUT it will be better with a LUT if LUT is not far from linear.
