    Hey Guys and Girls,

For some reason my profile loader icon is greyed out. Funny thing is, if I click it it will aply the right profiles to both of my monitors, its just won’t do it automatically on system boot.

Also, I can’t seem to aply the calibrated state as default in the profile association window as it is also greyed out.

    Any ideas?

    Running windows 10 Home 64

Managed to find the color management settings and aply the calibrated states as defaults on boot, so that’s something.

Icon is still greyed out for some reason…..

    Hi,

From my own experience, the icon will turn gray when the profile loader is disabled.  I know this happens on the two following occasions..

    • When Displaycal is open (the main app, not the profile loader).
    • An exception has been added in the Profile Loader.  (which can be used to reset the gamma table or temporarily disable the Profile Loader when an specific app is launched)

If DisplayCal (main app) is closed, and the profile loader icon in the tasktray is still gray, right click the Profile Loader, Exceptions, and check to see if you added anything.

The “Set as default” button is grayed out because the your profile is already set as default, it actually says (default) next to it.  If you were to add a second profile to the list, then you would be able to set that profile as default.  You can test this by doing the following.. Open C:\Program Files (x86)\DisplayCAL\tests, right click any of the listed profiles, click “Install profile”.  Right click the DisplayCal profile loader icon, click “Profile associations”, click “Add”, select the profile you just installed.  Now you are able to set that profile as default, and vice versa with your own profile.

Exceptions showed nothing. I’ve done as you sugested and installed an aditional profile to be able to reselect the excisting one as default. I was able to do (but only after unticking the box that says “Use my settings for this display device”this and I’ll let you know if if works.

Profile loader icon is still greyed out btw.

Unfortantly this did not solve the problem. Also tried rechecking the box saying “use my settings for this display device” but no pie.

Funny thing is, I can still just click the profile loader icon (even if it’s greyed out) and it will aply the correct settings…..

Could you please post step-by-step instructions? I saw the old posts mentioning the tickboxes in “advanced settings” but can’t find them either.

I know it’s a bit too late:) But for any other having trouble:

    1. Type Control Panel in Search and open the one and only legit control panel (pic 1).
    2. Type Color in searchbox and open Color Management. Go to Advanced tab where you’ll find Change system defaults.. at the bottom of the window (pic 2).
    3. Same window will open but with admin rights. Go to the same Advanced tab and untick “Use Windows display calibration” box.

    Thank you so much, Bartek.

This problem eventually came back for me across different devices, and Google led me back here but with your excellent reply this time 🙂
