    Good day,

DisplayCAL  got stuck during startup today dispaying the following message:

“UnicodeEncodeError: ‘ascii’ codec can’t encode character u’\xb2′ in position 71: ordinal not in range(128)”

I’m on PCLinuxOS and using the source package (for years now without a hitch).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!, cheers, Klaas.

    Hi Klaas,

DisplayCAL isn’t compatible with ASCII system encoding. Check your system settings (locale).

Thanks Florian!, in the meantime I discovered that myself, I had deleted my Dutch locale because I’m on en_GB alltogether, but then I realised…etc, etc…

    Cheers, Klaas.
