Hello. My english not perfect but i’ll try to explain my problems. I bought spyder5 elite and after some research i heard that dispcal better than native software. I saved my spyder icc profile and i tried dispcal. I liked dispcal rgb guide. I tweaked my monitor rgb settings. Anyway i checked calibrations with verification tab(spyderchecker). Dispcal icc failed. Spyder icc results better and spyder icc little bit reddish. My monitor Samsung 27CHG70. Gamut results very good. Gamut coverage: %98.7 SRGB %92.2 DCI P3 Gamut volume: %137.3 SRGB %97.2 DCI P3. But my main problem is crushed blacks. This is va panel but contrast measurements says 800-1200(depends on a configuration). My old Acer va panel 1350-5800 contrast(depends on a configuration). Samsung black equalizer didnt help contrast(it shouldnt) but weird thing is Acer black boost improved my panel contrast.

What is this black equalizer or black boost really ? It affects gamma some way. It shouldnt affect contrast as i know.

I cant see first 6 column properly with Samsung. Should i tweak black equalizer before calibration process or after ?

If i uninstall dispcal after calibration what happens ? I need only icc profile or i need dispcal software too ?

Im really confused. Should i use dispcal or spyder elite software ? Should i tick ”Use windows display calibration” on the color management panel. Do spyder elite software adjusts kelvin ?  Why spyder icc low kelvin and dispcal icc high kelvin. I set both 6500k.

I just want ICC profile: 6500k, 2.2 gamma, correct colors and no black crush. I wanna see contents as intended.

Default black equalizer: 13: first 6 column looks bad.

Black equalizer: 10: Looks ok.(higher value darker, lower value lighter)

    After spyder calibration: Same

After dispcal calibration: Every column easily visible. Even if i set black equalizer to 16.

Right now im using spyder icc and default osd rgb settings. Sypder elite software uninstalled, dispcal software installed. I reverted all dispcal calibration but i can see all black shades. I shouldnt see.

Default Acer va panel measurement 2.2 gamma setting panel osd: 6000k 2.0 gamma 1350 contrast.

Black boosted(black equalizer) acer 2.2 gamma setting panel osd: 6000k 2.2 gamma 3850 contrast.

Without blackboost but 2.4 gamma setting panel osd:                           6000k 2.2 gamma 1350 contrast.

Looks like spyder5 hardware fails for contrast measurement ?

Menu “Tools” -> “Report” -> “Report on uncalibrated display device”.
