Hi! I want to calibrate my AOC G3 Q27G3XMN Mini LED monitor. I purchased the latest Spyder (2024). However, the official software produces a rather disappointing result (green cast). Therefore, I am trying to use DisplayCAL instead. When I install the latest version of DisplayCAL, the Instrument and Correction options are unavailable. Installing ArgyllCMS does not resolve the issue. I tried manually installing the latest version of ArgyllCMS through Device Manager, but Windows 10 insists that its drivers are better and offers no other options. I also tried restarting the PC without driver signature enforcement, but I got the same result. What am I missing? (Newbie here.)

Greetings, and thank you in advance!

Corrections are in teh upper right corner in device tab (1st), “Modes”. Corrections in Spyders are built in and very limited in number, Wide LED is teh generic one for all kinds of different widegamut LED, hence visible color cast may happening calibrated RGB 255 white. It’s a device limitation. Use displaycal “visual whitepoint editor” by choosing “color coordinates for white, then latest icon. A popup will show up, choose manually white color, then let displaycal measure it and it will be set as alternatie white point coords.

If possible, just return that instrument and buy an i1 Display Pro:

    • X-Rite i1 Display Pro/Pro Plus
    • Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus
    • Calibrite Display Pro HL/Plus HL

Calibrite Display Pro HL on Amazon

Since that product is no longer available in my region I got the Calibrite Display Plus HL at a discount. Will that work with DisplayCAL?

Of course, since it’s the latest version of the X-Rite i1 Display Pro Plus (X-Rite probes are now manufactured and sold by Calibrite).

Thanks! Could you or someone give me a step-by-step guide on how to perform a basic but correct calibration for my AOC Mini LED  G3 Q27G3XMN using the Display Plus?
Specifically, I’m looking for instructions on how to set up ArgyllCMS and the important settings like Correction. I’m a bit lost and tumbling down the figurative rabbit hole.
