Hi, this is a great software. I usually calibrate projectors manually, but right now I’m using both methods.

I’m using a Spyder X profiled by an i1 pro 2 spectrophotometer with a JVC NZ7 (RS2100), I’m using Displaycal with madvr 3D lut because we need 10% window patterns for the phosphor wheel and blue laser technology (JVC Autocal doesn’t work well because it uses 100% patterns).

I’m checking DisplayCal calibration with HCFR and everything is mathematically perfect.

But I’m having problems with low IRES, black crushing and reddish grayscale at low IRES (below 10%-15%). I’m using 170 nits of white, but I’m sure the problem is related to the colorimeter (it can’t measure red color well at low IRES).

Do you know what settings we should apply to Display Cal to mitigate this?

    Thanks, amazing software

For black crush maybe you should  test if gamma to relative and 100% black output offset (remember to change reference in HCFR to notice this) solves the issue.

Regarding grey coloration, check if TRC in custom XYZLUT profile says that (or rather the opposite), or if present on non color managed just with VCGT.
