I have a question regarding local dimming and x-tended dynamic range.

I am about to calibrate my tv, which is sony x900e. During my usual viewing I use High setting for local dimming and Low setting for x-tended dynamic range.

Should I turn off both of these features during calibration and turn them on once I am done or just calibrate while having both of them enabled? Any settings in DisplayCal that I should be aware of?

    Hi,

Generally I’d recommend turning these features off at least during calibration and profiling, as they may mess with the display response. You may also want to enable white level drift compensation, and set patch sequence on the “Profiling” tab to “maximize lightness difference”. Also, make the measurement window as small as possible (still fitting the instrument).
