I’m trying to calibrate my LG C4 42″ using DisplayCAL with a Blackmagic UltraStudio Monitor 3G outputting to DaVinci Resolve. With small testcharts, the calibration works fine, but with larger testcharts, DisplayCAL hangs during gamut mapping and returns an “Invalid Profile” error, making it impossible to generate the 3D LUT.

    Current scenario:

    The measurement process runs normally.
When I use small testcharts (72 to 151 patches), the calibration and LUT generation complete without errors.
When I use larger testcharts, the program hangs during the gamut mapping stage and returns the error “Invalid Profile”.
When this error occurs, I am unable to generate the 3D LUT at all, which blocks my entire calibration workflow.
I’ve already tested different options such as rendering intent, gamut mapping mode, profile quality, etc., but the issue persists.
The crash seems to happen right after the PCS-to-device tables are calculated.
What I will attach to this topic:

Screenshots of my DisplayCAL settings (Calibration, Profiling, and 3D LUT tabs).
The log file from my latest calibration attempt, where the error was recorded.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any specific setting or workaround to prevent this error when working with larger and more complex testcharts?

Thanks a lot in advance for any help!

When you see issues on LUT3D first of all validate if custom profile  matches display.

Second try to generate LUT3D manually with standalone app and check if error happens.

Thank you very much for your suggestion, Vincent!

I was able to resolve the issue by installing the older ArgyllCMS version 3.2.0, and everything is working smoothly now.
