it says in the log “Effective Video LUT entry depth seems to be 8 bits”. Isn’t it supposed to say 11 bits since it is a Quadro card?
The bit depth it reports is derived from measurements, so there is some uncertainty. It also depends on the instrument and display (most displays only have an 8-bit panel, and even if it had something higher, you’d need to use a DisplayPort or HDMI connection because DVI is limited to 8 bit).
The instrument is a ColorMunki Display and the display is the laptop’s internal display. It says here http://www.panelook.com/B156HW01%20V4_AUO_15.6_LCM_overview_686.html that although it is a wide gamut panel, it is only a 6-bit one and the signal interface is LVDS (2 ch, 6-bit). So, I guess I am out of luck and the Quadro card is wasted on the internal display (in terms of calibration).
