    There can be viewers which render is as good as Adobe PS. I’m just pointing a (best) reference for comparison… because it is iur current reference about how this should be done.

    sRGB/AdobeRGB blacks are out of gamut in a backlit display, this is a fact.
    So you have to deal with out of gamut by clipping or by BPC. BPC tries to preserve grey tonal separation with minimum in gamut “deformation”. A more conservative BPC approach will crush/clip darker values. A more agressive BPC approach will lift too much out of gamut greys trying to preserve better grey tonal separation. Adobe’s BPC is a sweet point / best known approach.

    IDNK of other viewers with similar performance. Of course there should be some out there…. BUT if they show darker out of gamut/near out of gamut greys than PS, it is very likely that some black clipping is happening, i.e. developer chose to do not preserve, or maybe preserve “less” the tonal separation in greys , which usually is a bad approach.

    BTW if there is a any free fast/light viewer with close to Adobes BPC for Windows OS I would like to have/test it.
