Hello,
I recently purchased a Dell U2414H. Calibration was performed with a
Spyder4 express colorimeter. RGB channels were adjusted to get white
balance at 6500K prior to calibration. Attached is the calibration
report. I have a couple of questions on how I can improve a few
deficiencies I see.
— First, the color temperature tracking jumps up at the low end. Is this
normal? Any way to counteract this?
— The measured black level is a bit high at ~0.2, and the calibrated
contrast ratio seems a bit low at ~700:1. Can this be improved by changing
brightness or something? I have mine set for 140 cd/m2.
— There is a strange blip in the gamma tracking at ~90%. Any way to
counteract this?
Otherwise all of the deltaE values are below 1 and color temperature is
very close to 6500K.
Thanks!
Hi,
Attached is the calibration report.
I think you’ve forgotten to attach the file?

0.2 cd/m2 black level and 140 cd/m2 white seems about right for an IPS panel like the U2414 uses, so I don’t think anything is wrong there.
Thanks for your reply Florian.
Please let me know if you can see the attached report.
The report looks alright.
Okay, thanks. Was just wondering if the abnormalities on the low end for color temp and on the high end for gamma could be corrected somehow. I ran a susbequent calibration using the “medium” option and obtained even better results, but the same abnormalities are there just not as extreme. I’m assuming its just inherent to the display, as it won’t be perfect at the price point I paid.
Otherwise though I’m very happy with the calibration, thanks!!

Well, yes. That’s what happens when the profile gets used.
