Create a report of my screen as is

I would like to create a report of my screen in sRGB mode without a calibration. Is there a way to do this? The button to start a report is greyed out for me.

I used DisplayCal the past 3 years with a profile but that mostly broke the colors for anything non-colormanaged like Windows UI, Thumbnails, Telegram, Discord etc.

Uncheck simulation profile in verification window.   It measures what your screen is using its measured red green blue.   It does give you a greyed button before you run one calibration.    To measure if it meets rec 709 or srgb mark sim profile and choose rec 709 or srgb.    It does not use the calibration then but compares to the standard red green blue coordinates.   Hard to understand what it does for laymen.

partially no.

a) no simulation profile = verify if display “with whatever VCGT is loaded” matches default display profile in OS (or the profile selected in Displaycal “settings” top combobox).
What you suggest is valid if he sets sRGB as default profile in OS settings

B) simulation profile set to “X” and use simulation profile as display profile do the same you want to do with sRGB mode, so you can have a custom ICC profile with VCGT grey calibration loaded in your OS.
The verification will disable it temporaly to test if raw hardware behavior(*) matches that simulation profile with no calibration. Then it will restore whatever profile you have in OS.
This is the “cleaner” way to test what Sondwaave wants since it does not involve change OS settings for just one test

c) simulation profile set to “X” and DO NOT use simulation profile as display = test how display will behave showing an image in colorspace X with your current calibration in some color managed app like photoshop.
Typical example: I have an 93% sRGB display, how out of gamut colors (my display vs sRGB ) wil show? what kind error would I expect?

d) I want to test if my display with VCGT grey calibration loaded matches exactly some colorspace “X”
This is unsupported by DisplayCAL at this moment. You can find a workaround with running DisplayCAL on a virtual machine and using b) while keeping your current profile in “actual computer” so VCGT keeps loaded in GPU

(*) we exclude here “layers” like DWMLUT, but it may be done with DMWLUT active
