Quick question here. If II use a color correction file, do i still need to worry about the Instument mode (Generic, LCF Withe LED, LCD GB-rLED, etc)?
Because I am using the color correction, I assume the Instument mode is overwritten by the color correction file, so the chosen option should be indifferent. I am wrong?

Spyders use their built-in instrument modes – that can be selected in DisplayCAL – instead of spectral corrections, which are meant for i1 Display colorimeters (from both X-Rite and Calibrite).

3×3 matrix chained on the pipeline, IN SOFTWARE, hence a custom correction must be used in the same Spyder mode it was used for creation of that correction… and they are unlikely to be portable between different spyders.
Regarding i1d3 if you port a 3×3 XYZ to XYZ from Calman manually, it may have been generated with a EDR applied before, while in DisplayCAL it s not possible, 3×3 correction is created from no correction mode.
Also 3×3 matrices are unlikely to be portable between different i1d3.Calibrite Display Pro HL on Amazon

Hm I see, so that list of instrument modes is unique to Spyder.
Anyway, as I mentioned in a previous post, regardless of instrument mode, color coordinates were highly innacurate. So thats why I created a color correction using a JETI Specbos spectroradiometer, available in my lab. Afterwards, I had no more issues using Spyder with that display.
But I completely ignored that the instrument mode was still there for me to choose, so thats why I asked.
