    HI there

I tried to install a profile under KDE5 Gentoo but it didn’ t work. I got this message

"The profile could not be installed/activated.
Argyll CMS: Failed to find device that matches c5e34755cf301c3d55c30b65ed045153a:
    prperty match ’OutputEDIDMd5'='c5e34755cf301c3d55c30b65ed045153a does
not exist Dispwin: Error -  Failed to install profile...."

colord: Querying fpr profile ’icc-xxxxxxxxxxxxxx' returned no results for 5 secs

    colormgr get-devices-by-kind display

    gives no output

    # systemctl |grep color
colord.service loaded active running Manage, Install and Generate Color Profiles

Any hints what could be the problem?

    Hi,

is the colord-kde package installed? This is what provides colord support in the session.

I installed it now but nothing changed. colord-kde is KDE-4. So I think it’s not applicable for KDE-5.

    colord-kde is KDE-4

So it’s not avaialble for KDE5? That’s weird. Do you have libcolordcompat installed? If so, removing it should fix the Argyll CMS profile installation issue, and then you could ignore the colord error (and hope nothing relies on it).

There is no libcolordcompat package for Gentoo. I hav now installed for calibration colord-kde (will be removed), colord-gtk (I’m not shure wether it is needed), colord, argyllcms-1.7.0 and displaycal-3.1.3.1. and recently oyranos. With oyranos the profile is installed but the colord error appears again.

Colord and colord-kde are running flawlessly here under KDE5.

However, don’t forget to apply the following:

Under KDE ‘System Settings’ –> ‘Display and Monitor’ –> ‘Compositor’ set ‘Rendering backend’ to OpenGL 3.1 and ‘OpenGL interface’ to GLX.

And at the bottom activate  ‘Enable colour correction’

Pure joy will be yours, Cheers, Klaas.

NB: Restart X after you’ve made the changes as outlined above.

    Cheers, Klaas.
