    I have an old colourimeter, which is vastly underreporting green: to whit, every automatic calibration results in a distinctly green tint. I should like to create an artificial calibration file for my colourimeter, which will boost the amount of green reported, thereby removing the resultant green tint. How can I best achieve this adventure?

    First of all in device tab (1st one), choose the proper coorimeter correction to your display light type
    If tint persist, calibration tab (2nd one) instead of 6500K daylight or other whitepoint choose “chromaticity coordinates” and then choose the three balls icon. Adjust visually till you get a “white”. Calibration software will set those xy coordinates (measured in the accurate or innacurate way your coorimeter measures them) as calibration target.

    Photoshop or other tools won’t care about alternative visual matched whites. But if you create LUT3D remember to do not use abs colorimetric intent with stadrad profile simulations or your visually matched white will be undone.

    Thanks much for your post! Given, that the colourimeter presumably accurately measures value on the x axis (of the xyY plane), I can therefore calibrate the screen’s red value directly: only the y axis is unknown. Your answer has put me on to this new technique, and for that I am indeed thankful; as well as for your reminder of the 3D LUT subtleties.

    I will note, that though your answer has undoubtedly been given several times, the question posed is seemingly a unique one – and remains unanswered: namely, the creation or adjustment of a synthetic calibration file for the colourimeter. However, you do give a hint: look to “the proper coorimeter correction to your display light type”! Perhaps this file can be manually manipulated, thereby increasing the green value arbitrarily. I’ll have a look there: thanks for the tip!

    Lastly, there’s a minor typo in a dialogue box: where can I file a suitable bug report? Thanks again!

    You’ll need to create a 3×3 matrix in CCMX file. This is created from two TI3 file with measurements.
    One will be your “visual white” calibrated screen WRGB, the other must be synthetic with the values that should be. You can use the measured ti3 file as skeleton for the synthetic.
    Then let DisplayCAL create the CCMX.
