    So is there a “Color” control panel, and you see your display listed in said control panel?

    I just looked at the file types in the page I just sent…. it says one is ‘icc’. Is that an icc profile? Why is it giving me errors? (also in the above link)

    No, it’s not a diagram. What you’re looking for is a control panel, of the Mate desktop itself, that says “Color” or “Color Management”. In there, you should see your display(s) listed. If this control panel doesn’t exist, then your dektop environment has no real useful colord support.
