I am just a PC user with no particular color requirements for my use case. My goals are to have my three monitors “similar” and to have the brightness automatically adjust based on room conditions.
my use case is simple: I want to keep brightness low so my sensitive eyes don’t feel tired. It’s particularly important in the evening when my office is much darker.
can I use Displaycal for this? What do I need to do?
To add a bit of context: I have an xrite / i1 Display unit that works fine, so I think I have the correct hardware. My old PC used to do this properly with the i1 software but every month or two it would randomly stop working, and need to be reconfigured from scratch. I’m hoping there’s a better solution here! I don’t need perfection – I mostly need my screen brightness to adjust as my room’s brightness adjusts. That’s the difference between “I get migraines every few days” and “I forget what migraines are”
I don’t think you can use DisplayCAL for this
That’s a shame.
It’s great (for me, with my requirements) when it works 🙂
