Hello!
Can anyone explain when we use YCbCr 4:4:4 (Limited) and not RGB Full, for profiling and creating 3d lut for rec709?
Also i need some help with the following set up.PGenerator as a pattern generator, a lut box, displaycal for creating the 3D lut and the monitor.
The signal chain is
PGen
HDMI
3D LUT BOX (Null Lut for Profiling)
HDMI
MONITOR
2. if the monitor is calibarated to rec709 with Pgenerator thrn the calibration is valid also when connected to decklinks cards that they bypass the os and send the pure video signal to the 3D lut box and the monitor? in theory is valid but i didn’t try it out yet.
I set the PGen to send RGB FULL, BMD micro converter to FULL and the DisplaCal output levels to LEGALand at the 3D LUT tab i set the INPUT as well as OUTPUT encoding to LEGAL (TV RGB 16-235) and although the verification has excellent results for a quick profile, the generating 3D LUT that i store to the BMD (FULL Levels) ii think that need some scaling.
What are the correct settings for making the 3D lut as good as it can be (unfortunately i dont own a specro, only a color checker display plus and dont know how to check if a correlation file is good or not) any advise how to identify the good ones, other than to try them?
other settings that i should aware or try, other than the VCGT (always checked for 3d lut) and of course a bigger testchart ?

YUVAlthough my monitor is 2160p, due to 10-bit that the displaycal use, i need to lower the resolution at 1080p60 for the signal to pass thru the 3D lut box.

Quant range: Full
