#14116 (Enhancement) Why do I need to press “Start measurement” twice?

  • Actual behaviour:
When starting the calibration/profiling routine, I need to press two buttons labeled “Start measurement”, right after each other.
The first one is in the “Measurement area” window, the second is in the “Interactive display adjustment” window – the one that comes up by clicking the first “Start measurement” button. After I’ve clicked the first one, it has sometimes taken me up to 30 seconds to realise that measurement has not actually started yet, but I need to instruct the computer to start a second time. It catches me off-guard, waiting for something to happen, half the time.

I’m curious, is there a reason for the current behaviour?

  • Expected behaviour:
After I click “Start measurement” in the “Measurement area” window, I expect the measurement to actually start. I expect the leftmost button in the “Interactive display adjustment” to read “Stop measurement” right away.

Is this fix super high priority? No. Will it make DisplayCAL into an even more polished product? Definitely. 🙂
This is the only real quirk I can think of in an otherwise pretty neat GUI!
