    Hi,
did my first calibration quickly, but now I would like to do this more properly, for my hobbies video editing.
I did go to card settings and would like to confirm/advice on the parameters to be correct.

    DISPLAY: Change Resolution

    YCbCr444 or RGB?
10bpc or 8bpc -the video will be 8bpc but I read somewhere that editing is better under 10bpc environment.

    DISPLAY: Colour settings

That’s all by default, however should I leave it at default or go for 2.2 or 2.4 ?

    VIDEO: Video Image settings

    That at default I suppose.

    VIDEO: Colour settings

    At default again.

    VIDEO: Gamma

Again should I change to 2.2-2.4 or just leave this?

    VIDEO: Dynamic range

    Full or limited?

    How Display settings affect video?

Also, DCG gives me correction options for Spyder5 as follow:

What should I choose for my Samsung U28D590D display? All I know about it, it is:
    LED edge-lit:
    Screen Size 28″
    Aspect Ratio 16:9
    Panel Type TN
    BLU Type LED
    Brightness (Typical) 370cd/m2
    Contrast Ratio 1000:1 (Typ)
    Dynamic Contrast Ratio Mega ∞
    Resolution 3840×2160
    Response Time 1 (GTG)
    Viewing Angle (H/V) 170°/160°
    Color Support 1B

Also I will try to calibrate my Samsung plasma TV Series 8 60inch (PS60E8000), so what settings and correction should I choose for that?

    Product PDP
    Screen Size 60
    Resolution 1920 x 1080
    Real Black Yes
    Clear Image Panel Yes
    Wide Colour Enhancer Yes
    600Hz Subfield Motion Yes
    Digital Noise Filter Yes

    Thanks a lot,
    Michal

    Hi,

as always, a lot of this depends on the specific display. I.e. YCbCr444 or RGB, 10bit/8bit etc., you’ll have to figure out for your specific display (10bit should be superior in theory, but on some displays this may not work).

    DISPLAY: Colour settings
    VIDEO: Video Image settings
    VIDEO: … etc.

Don’t change these (leave at default and/or set to “application controlled”)

What should I choose for my Samsung U28D590D display?

Choose “White LED” under measurement mode (correction will be “None”).

Also I will try to calibrate my Samsung plasma TV Series 8 60inch (PS60E8000), so what settings and correction should I choose for that?

Here you can choose the “Spectral: Plasma” correction (measurement mode should be “Refresh”).

    Digital Noise Filter Yes

You can probably turn that off.
