    Good day!

I’ve tried to get white point at 6500K for my display using datacolor SpyderX device and didn’t get expected results. My monitor is DELL U2718Q

    I’ve attached:

    • Settings 1-3.jpg – settings of DisplayCAL
    • Check.jpg  – result of measure white color with help of Iphone app.

I agree that Iphone app may be not precise but not so badly that I notice “yellow” tint on my calibrated monitor by comparing it with white screen of apple device.

I’ve turned off night mode and any color correction on Windows. Measurement is done in dark room with no direct / intensive ambient light.

What could be a reason of this error?

    Regards

1- you cannot your phone camera a tester
2- you should use colorimeter correction for your display backlight (looks like White LED)
3- spyders are not very accurate and their bundled colorimeter correction may not match your display backlight

It could be a red part of white is not able to get to the right lumanance.   Try turning contrast down 1 notch.    Or set a manual white brightness 5% less than full brightness.  You could find if it 4, 3 ,2 ,1 works ok.    HCFR is good for checking when turning contrast up does nothing to the red , green or blue if you turn it to show RGB instead of xyY.    It is only a shot.  It could be anything.
