Home › Forums › General Discussion › Should I Return my Display Pro HL?
Hello,
I just ordered a Calbrite Display Pro HL last night on Amazon but now I’m starting to wonder: should I return this? I’m seeing posts on forums where people are yelling “don’t buy this!” Is this colorimeter really that bad? I’m trying to calibrate my Alienware AW3423DWF (QD-OLED monitor)
P.S. I know the sentiment is “go with the Colorchecker Display Plus instead” but I can’t seem to find that model anywhere. I see the Colorchecker Display Pro but I don’t know if the hardware is the same (they’re two different model numbers)

The plus does up to 2000 nits and is great for low light readings. I have not seen a advanced hardware test compareing the HL and pro. I would get the pro. I got a coupon code for the HL for $170 and that is a lot less than I paid for the Calibrite Display plus. The display plus must be selling more and they need to sell the HL. It is the recommened meter. I won’t be selling mine. Very tempting too since then I could get HL for free. The Calibrite Display Plus was hard to get even 2 years ago. Sold like hot cakes.
No, keep it. Just notice that since device has push the upper limit further, it may be unable to measure very dark, almost true black but not yet black from OLEDs.
You can check user reviews in AVS Forum, display calibration subforum.
I have the xrite i1 Display Pro and just purchased the Calibrite Display HL
Calibrite confirmed to me that there was an issue with software with the early HL units causing low light reading errors which was rectified but can’t confirm if that was just with Calibrites own software.
