    Hey Florian.

When I am visually (manually) setting the brightness and contrast for a HDTV used as a computer monitor, should I clear the current profiles\calibration from the pathway to get the native respponse?  Or should I be viewing the monitor through an .icc file’s influence?  (If so, which one is best?)

Or maybe I should be using the Window’s default sRGB profile.

What’s the best .icc file (if any) to visually adjust the contrast and brightness?

    Thanks.

Reset the calibration to linear while doing adjustments. You can use DisplayCAL’s profile loader to do this (right-click, “Reset video card gamma table”). DisplayCAL itself will automatically reset calibration while doing interactive adjustments.
