I am a chinese so my english is not well, hope you guys can understand what i mean.
I used i1 Display Pro and DisplayCal 3.6 to calibrate my display, this is part of my settings D7500 2.2 S XYZLUT+MTX. 7500K gamma2.2. the other settings are just default. Load the profile with DisplayCal profile load and turn off windows’s color management
I find that after load the icc Profile. Photoshop Acdsee and nikon photo editor , they show the different color and shadows between Windows Photo UWP and some usual photo softwares. Photoshop Acdsee and nikon photo editor can show more shadows details. I guest maybe Windows Photo UWP and usual photo softwares can’t load gamma2.2 in the profile, they just use the srgb gamma. But i am not sure about that. And i am not sure whether ps shows the corret color, do the software need to load the color lookup table or color correction has been load in Gpu gamma curve.
Hope some masters can help me with this. Chinese forums have so less information about color management. I upload some photos about a same srgb photo open with different softwares, you can easily see that the shadows of hair are different.

This means that RGB values encoded in image will be sent directly to monitorAdobe suite, GIMP (may need to be configured), Firefox (may need to be configured), Nikon NX-D, Old windows Image viewer (only matrix portion of profile)… etc = color managed
This means that RGB values encoded in image will be transformed to other RGB values according to the information your display profile. Those second RGB values will be sent to your display to render a color whch is as close as it can be to the color represented in RGB values (relative to a profile) of your image. There was a way to restore old windows image viewer with a reg file (registry entry). Google it.
Works fine even it can only use the matrix part of your XYZLUT+matrix profile.2018-06-28 at 19:44 #12552Thanks a lot!!! I know which software shows the correct color now. And i’ve restored old windows image viewer before, it really shows the same color as ps. I want to know that which part of color mangement work by windows & gpu gamma, which part should work by photo software. I guess may be gamma 2.2 correction and srgb to display color space transforme work by windows and gpu gamma. Then color transforme( XYZLUT+matrix? ) work by software ?

Some monitors could do the same internally + some kind of gamut calibration (to smaller or equal gamuts).Others transformations are done by color management:
-by default display profile (like yours), set as OS level
-by a display profile (like yours), configured explicitly in application level (GIMP/Firefox could be configured to do this)
-by LUT3D like madVR or Resolve- This reply was modified 5 years, 10 months ago by Vincent.
