    Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask about calibrating my Gigabyte Aero 15″ XD OLED laptop using a Xrite i1 Display Plus Pro. Using my laptop in SDR for watching films mostly.

I know OLED laptops are far from ideal for accurate calibration but I wanted to get it as close as color accurate if possible.

Not done this a lot of times, thanks for the patience…..

From reading previous posts, I’ve gathered I should use the following settings.

    DISPLAY
    correction: spectral – RGB OLED
    output levels – auto
white level drift compensation – yes
black level drift compensation – yes

    CALIBRATION
    obversver – cie 1931 2
    white point – 6500k
    white level – 120 cd/m2
    tone curve – sRGB
    black output offset – 100%
    black point correction – auto
    rate 4.00
    calibration speed – low

    PROFILE
    profile type – XYZ+matrix
    black point compensation – off
    profile quality – high
test chart – very large test chart for lut profiles 4954
patch sequence – minimize display response delay

    3D LUT settings
    source colorspace – REC709
    tone curve – custom
    gamme – 2.2(relative)
    apply calibration (vcgt) – OFF
    rendering intent – relative colormetric
    3D lut resolution – 33x33x33

Any corrections/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Under white point should I use the visual white point editor or set the temp at 6500k?

    Thanks for your time,

    Rob

Try to figure out what is the ABL limit al 100% size. Then instead of setting 120nit as target set “as measured” and set manually a value lower or equal than abl limit.

Example, set a lower brightness and a full screen 255 whire patch. Rise bightness step by step untill it does not go up visually. Of course you can do it measuring.

Under white point should I use the visual white point editor or set the temp at 6500k?

No unless resilting white does nt look white to youe eyes.

Thanks Vincent, I’ve actually managed to turn the ABL off luckily.

    Hi Robert.

    How’s the result?

I’d like to use your parameter for my Asus Vivobook Pro 14X Oled (N7401ZE) using my old i1Display Pro. Any tips I need to manage before/during/after the process?

    Hey,

Yeah the result is still too orange and contrasty for my liking. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong/right, wishing you the best of luck with it!

    Rob
