Just curious but why does auto optimized test chart produce uneven edges…

Compared to using the preset testchart for LUT profiles, it’s happening on all of my monitors, left is preset testchart, right is auto optimized.

The “auto” option uses an uneven distribution of test points which is preferable from a device characterization standpoint (you can check the ArgyllCMS website for the technical details and reasoning behind it, Graeme has a document on it).
