While calibrating my monitor, I adjust the colour settings on the monitor, until DisplayCal is happy, like so:

Note that it wants me to adjust blue notably higher than red and green. However, when the calibration is complete, it results in calibration curves that look like this:

The blue channel gets adjusted way down. What’s up with this? Why does DisplayCal want me to boost blue levels, and then adjusts them down during calibration?

Attach logs of the run please (menu “Tools” -> “Show log window”, then click the “Create compressed archive…” button that looks like a package).

    All the logs exported:

I just did a quick calibration with fewer samples, and called it “debug.icc”. The exported log archive seems to have logs going way back, but I left it all there, in case it might be useful.

For completeness sake, here’s all the output from the debug calibration run.

The “debug” profile has quite different calibration compared to your other screenshot, and doesn’t show the large dip in blue at white. Overall, the display doesn’t seem to be very well behaved (probably because it is an older model). Does it have features like dynamic contrast? If so, these would need to be disabled. You can also try setting the measurement mode to “refresh” as the backlight flicker may influence the measurements, and/or lowering calibration speed to “medium” .

Here’s the profile I’m currently running, and all associated files from calibration, that I took a screenshot of above.

The display is pretty old now. It’s from 2008 I think. I don’t expect miracles from it, but I thought the behavior i described above was odd still.

EDIT: Forgot. No sort of dynamic or enhanced or other tomfoolery is enabled.
