    Hi. I ‘m on linux Mint 17.3 and I have problems with displayCAL. I keep getting the dispcal: Error – new_disprd() failed with ‘Instrument Access Failed’ error message. I have spyder 5 probe.

    Hi,

    this seems to be an issue with some (even recent) Linux distributions, parts of their software stack is months if not years out of date. Linux Mint probably lacks the necessary udev rules for some of the newer instruments like the Spyder5. You can install updated udev rules that come with Argyll CMS in the “Tools” menu of DisplayCAL.

    Do you mean Tools > Install Argyll CMS instrument configuration files ? Than option is grayed out and not available.
