    X-Rite i1 Studio
    DisplayCal v3.8.9.3
    Argyll v3.3.0
    Windows 10

DisplayCAL doesn’t seem to be detecting my device (specs listed above). When I click on the refresh icon (Detect display devices and instruments), a pop-up window titled “Enumerating display devices and communication ports…” shows, but nothing is detected and the instrument dropdown remains grayed out.

I know the i1 Studio is functioning ok because it works with ccStudio. It shows up in the device list in the system tray USB ejection icon. I tried connecting it to different USB ports, but no luck.

Not sure what else I can try to troubleshoot the issue. Are there any commands I can run with Argyll to test for connected device?

I noticed there’s an “Install ArgyllCMS instrument drivers…” command under Tools > Instrument. It gives a notice that it’s only necessary to install specific drivers if my device is NOT a ColorMunki Display, i1 Display Pro, etc, which I guess means I should install it for my i1 Studio.

Unfortunately it gave me this error:
Key does not exits: “There is no item named u’Argyll_V3.3.0_USB_driver_installer.exe’ in the archive”

Curious, I did a search in my Argyll_V3.3.0 folder, and was actually able to find ‘ArgyllCMS_install_USB.exe’ in the usb folder.

I tried running it, and it displayed “Installing ArgyllCMS libusb0 driver using libwdi:” in a cmd window. But after a pausing for a couple minutes, it just closed. When I tried DisplayCAL again, it was still not able to detect my device.

Aha! I finally got it. I overlooked the instructions for “Instrument driver installation under Windows” on the Installation page:
    https://displaycal.net/#install

These were the steps that I followed:
    1) Temporarily disabled driver signature enforcement by SHIFT-clicking “Restart” and going through the reboot steps.
    2) Installed the drivers by manually running ‘ArgyllCMS_install_USB.exe’ in the ‘Argyll_V3.3.0/usb’ folder.
    3) Navigated to the Device Manager, selected the device, Update Driver, browsed for drivers, navigated to ‘Argyll_V3.3.0/usb’ folder, then clicked “Let me pick from a list…”
    4) Selected the ‘Argyll’ version of the driver for my device.

Finally it’s showing up in DisplayCAL.
