I calibrated my monitor once using the default gamma 2.2 with a temperature of 6500k. Then I calibrated the monitor with an sRGB profile with a temperature of 6500k. In both cases I got completely different results. With sRGB, black appears gray and generally all colors appear grayer. In the case of gamma, colors are darker and black is black. Are you doing something wrong?
No. Google wikipedia sRGB TRC. On a low (~1000:1) contrast display sRGB TRC shows very dark greys lighter non color managed than 2.2
