Clarification adding a new profile to an existing calibration

Hello.

OK, so now I know how to add a new profile to an existing calibration, but  could you please give clarification about something ?

Is it correct to say:

The new .icc file that is created contains the old calibration (untouched) , and the newly created color profile (which was created with reference to the old calibration).

Simply put, I need to know if the new color profile is truly new, or is it a modification of the old color profile?

It’s based on completely new measurements. I forgot to say if your goal is to work off the current calibration, you also have to select “<Current>” under “Settings” in DisplayCAL.
