Hi. I am relative new to the calibration world. I did a bunch of monitor calibrations via DisplayCal, but my question is a bit different this time. I bought a monitor to be claimed as factory calibrated, which has a verification report in it, claiming a good delta value. Yet, I want to make such a test on my own. As said, I did calibrations by creating profile and luts for Resolve, however, I didn’t figure out how you can run a test with a I1 Display Pro Calibration Device without changing the profile. Correct me if I am wrong: When you do a calibration, you actually change the default values of a delivered monitor, and the report shows actually the changed result? Is there a way by using DisplayCal or any other software to check the factory calibration reports’ accuracy?

I can’t understand how to do this, can you show it with some pictures or similar so I can understand?
As I have many settings in OSD for example Gamma I want to make sure that original it’s close as possible before I use DisplayCal.

Instead of Rec709 with gamma 2.2 you can choose 2.4, or choose as simulation profile Display P3 or whatever colospace you want to verify against.
That will verify if your display WITHOUT GPU grey calibration behaves exactly as simulation profile.

You have to choose in display OSD the options that “should” be closer to desired target colorpace, or if in doubt the closer ones. For example if you have in OSD “gamma1”, “gamma2, “gamma3” you’ll have to verify with a measurement report the 3 options and chack what is closer.
Of another example, in OSD you have gamma 2.1, 2.2 and gamma 2.3: Verify the 3 options since factory calibration may be wrong.2021-07-17 at 15:03 #30948If you uncheck “use simulation profile as display profile” you are verifying how accurately display matches “default display profile” in OS (usually instaled by driver on Windows) when you open in Photoshop an image which has “simulation profile” as image embeded profile.
- uncheck “use simulation profile as display profile” => how it behaves with “simulated colorspace” images in Photoshop
- check “use simulation profile as display profile” => how it matches “simulated colorspace” in non color managed apps (factory sRGB modes, HW calibration slots and such)
