    hey guys,
    so for the first time, i’ve bought a mac device (macbook pro m2 max) but I just can’t calibrate it nor the external monitor i have (asus proart 329) displaycal don’t work and iprofiler gives me horrible colors
    what can i do?

    I am using the xrite 1 display pro
    is it any workaround to make displaycal work?

    already saw the vidoes, when trying with the i1 profiler I got a very weird teal/blueish tint

    If you macbook has XDR screen and you wish to correct its whitepoint (2 conditions), you should use Apple’s app that ask you for an actual measurement of whitepoint (CIE xyY, but I do not remember). If DIsplayCAL/ArgyllCMS does not run in your mac because of reasons, just use ArgyllCMS “spotread” and place i1d3 colorimeter in macbookdisplay with white 255 big white patch (fullscreen if you can). spotread will rerpot whitepoint coordinates, put them in Apple Custom preset app for XDR screen.

    If your macbook does not have an XDR display and DIsplayCAL is not working, try DIsplayCAL port to python3 from Erkan, there is a thread here or google it.

    Regarding Xrite i1Profiler app it has too few colorimeter corrections. All Apple’s non OLED P3 displays use a custom W-LED pfs phosphor LED (bundled in displayCAL as CCSS). Xrite does not have it , has another close one called panasonic vvx listed in i1Profiler as PFS phosphor (EDR, binary equivalent of text format “CCSS”), you may try it.
    If that EDR bundled in i1Profiler does not work as intented and you wish to use i1Profiler… you’ll need to forge an EDR. Try to inject CCSS data in macbook CCSS (DIsplayCAL) into Panasonic VVX CCSS, then use ccss2edr python tool to rebuild a “forged/hacked/patched” panasonic VVX EDR, then replace EDR in Xrite folder for i1d3 corrections.

    I do not remember PA329C backlight but if it is a widegamut with adoberGB green it would be WLED PFS (adobergb flavor) like “HP Z24xG2” bundled in displaycal, or a QLED (use some PG CCSS from colorimeter database, then interpolate to 1nm) and do again the EDR hack in other EDR that you find useless (RGphosphor, WGCCFL or whatever EDR that has no use for you)
