My question is, can the eye-one pro measure modern LCD monitors with displayCAL?
Currently, I am wondering whether to buy a used eye-one pro REV.D (part No.42.17.79). According to the seller, the measurement seems to be possible.
The reason I’m eyeing this is simply because it’s cheap.My purpose is to correct display colors for hobby purposes. I’m not interested in photography or editing, just a simple interest in seeing games and videos in the correct colors.
The monitor uses a regular LCD and I have no plans to buy an HDR display or OLED in the future.I heard that the eye-one pro seems to be a very old device and has limits on the maximum and minimum brightness that can be measured.
Please let us know your information.
It depends on spectral power distribution (SPD) of the display.
Xrite driver at 10nm is not capable of capturing modern LED SPD in an accurate way.
ArgyllCMS 3nm driver should be able to capture non dark colors accurately… with the exception of laser projectors and (maybe) WLED PFS phosphor LEDs
