    Hello,

I am totally new to screen calibration and need some help.

Recently, I purchased a Calibrite Display Plus HL with the aim of calibrating my Acer Predator X32 FP monitor https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/740a29e4, which is a mini-LED with a wide gamut. My target is to clamp it to sRGB and calibrate colors and stuff.

For this purpose, I used the manufacturer’s application, Calibrite Profiler v1.2.1. I selected a Mini-LED screen within the application and proceeded with the calibration. Unfortunately, I am failing the validation. Furthermore, even after the calibration, some colors seem off to me when using the profile.

I’ve heard that DisplayCal is often recommended for this process. However, I’m having difficulties due to the vast array of settings, and I’m unsure of how to adjust everything. Specifically, I can’t seem to find an option for mini-LED.

In spite of these challenges, I’ve attempted calibration several times. One attempt seemingly passed with a brilliant delta of 0.1 – almost unbelievable. However, the colors I see in Windows 11 do not fully match my expectations.

To address this, I wanted to verify the profile using the official Calibrite application. Unfortunately, it presents a profile error as can be seen in attached picture.

Can anyone provide assistance with this issue? I would greatly appreciate it.

Here are some corrections for your display:

    https://colorimetercorrections.displaycal.net/?get&type=ccss&manufacturer_id=ACR&display=X32%20FP&instrument=i1%20DisplayPro%2C%20ColorMunki%20Display%2C%20Spyder4&html=1

    Give them a shot.

There’s no need to clamp the gamut. If you want to work in the sRGB color space, just choose it in your software.

Calibrite’s software can’t validate a profile created with DisplayCAL.

For color-critical work, the luminance level should be in the 80-120 cd/m2 range. Setting it above 120 cd/m2 might result in your prints looking darker than what you see on the screen.

Thanks, I will try those suggestions. Should I use the i1 one?

Is there a guide available for adjusting RGB gain and bias sliders? I’m currently having the most trouble with that. Perhaps there are some methods or techniques to follow, as right now it feels like I’m just randomly +- experimenting until I achieve green text color and the smallest delta value next to it.

By the way I’m experiencing an issue with Calibrite’s software after installing Display Cal. It seems to be related to conflicting drivers? Their software no longer detects my instrument, and simply selecting the uninstall option in the Tools menu doesn’t resolve the issue. I’ve checked the Device Manager, but I couldn’t find anything named “Angry” or even “Calibrite Display Plus.” Is there a better and easier method for uninstalling the software?

X-Rite/Calibrite colorimeters are HID devices, which aren’t listed under their product names.

There might be some conflict between Calibrite Profiler and Argyll CMS, for which DisplayCAL is a GUI.

    Try updating Argyll:

    1. Download the latest version: https://www.argyllcms.com/Argyll_V2.3.1_win64_exe.zip
    2. Extract the archive.
    3. Go to File > Locate ArgyllCMS executables…
    4.  Navigate to <download location>\Argyll_V2.3.1_win64_exe\Argyll_V2.3.1\bin and click Select Folder.

If that doesn’t help, try reporting the problem the developer of Argyll, Graeme Gill: http://argyllcms.com/gwg/ (click Contact Me).
