Home › Forums › Help and Support › Abysmal Post-Calibration Contrast Ratio
I have a Dell p2415q 4k monitor advertised as having a static contrast ratio of 1000:1. I have an i1DisplayPro colorimeter that I have been using to calibrate this monitor via both DisplayCal and the X-Rite calibration software. However, in both situations my post-calibration contrast ratio is reported as being in the realm of 200:1. I am not sure what to do at this point. Colors are accurate with low dEs but the contrast ratio is driving me nuts. I do not have access to the nVidia control panel settings as I am using a laptop with a 960m to drive my monitor (which entails that the display signal being sent over HDMI to my monitor originates from the Intel iGPU).
I have noticed also that when I attempt to verify my calibration the colors of the monitor shift for the first 3 patches before returning to normal for the remaining patches – almost as though the calibration profile reverts to the pre-calibrated state for those 3 and then returns to its post-calibrated state afterwards.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have attached my verification report below.

Your black level is extremely high (possibly you are driving the monitor with video levels, while it expect full range). You should probably check your monitor settings, and make sure you drive the monitor with the correct input levels.
