Below you'll find popular measurement instruments supported by DisplayCAL as well as a selection of monitors hand-picked based on suitability for graphic work (you can find reviews on prad.de and tftcentral.co.uk).
Colorimeters
Colorimeters are generally better suited for measuring displays (due to not drifting as much over time, their higher measurement speed and better low-light capability) than spectrometers. For potentially increased accuracy, a spectrometer can be used to calibrate the colorimeter, though.
