Hi Florian,
first of all thanks for your great tool. I used it with a Spyder 4 last week and calibration/profiling works fine. I run displaycal mostly with default options. Tone curce to sRGB, profile type I set to single curve + matrix, “black point compensation” on and to have a better result, I choosed “extended testchart for LUT profiles” to have more patches (options you can see in the added screenshots).
I’m wondering that after calibration my gamma is between 2.7 and 2.8 (without calibration 2.2 to 2.3). I thought it should be around 2.2 with a sRGB calibration. I tested the gamma using firefox with eizo monitor test (https://www.eizo.de/monitortest/) and other online tools with the new displaycal profile in Windows 10 and as well under Ubuntu 18.04. In Firefox I added the link to the profile (gfx.color_management.display_profile) and set gfx.color_management.mode to “1”.
The monitor is a curved 27′ VA Panel from AOC (https://eu.aoc.com/de/gaming/products/ag272fcx), brightness around 120 cd/m².
Any idea what I did wrong or any explanation?
Thanks in advance!
Tom
