    My setup is…

    HTPC –
    Windows Kodi/DSPlayer/MadVR

    Screen –
    Blackout cloth homemade screen.

    Sony VPL-HW40ES Projector –
    D65 Color Temp
    709 Colorspace
    0-255 dynamic range

    MadVR –
RGB output 0-255 (Trying to get max for HDR>SDR but unsure if this should be set this way)
Native bit depth 10 or higher (Not sure if this is right for my PJ, I heard it has a 12-Bit color engine???)
    HDR>SDR Conversion using Pixel Shader
    Display is calibrated to BT.709, BT.709 2.20

    Meter –
    i1 Display Pro

    Why do I want a 3DLut?
My screen material is throwing off my RGB balance (too much blue) and due to the very limited calibration options in the HW40ES projector I’m unable to do proper correction at the projector level to compensate.

    Questions –
Should I worry too much about using a correction matrix for my i1 Display Pro meter?

The only built-in correction option I see in DisplayCAL3 that seems to be for projectors is ‘Spectral:Projector (Marantz HP Panasonic Projectors Hybrid EDR)

Also any idea if I should be using the White Level Drift Compensation option for my setup?[/QUOTE]

    First Results

I ran my profile build for the first time last night to try and correct the colors coming off my projection screen. The best I could dial in my PJ was around 6700k trying to get to D65. Here is the flattest gray curve I could achieve with my limited projector adjustment options and my blackout cloth screen….

Here’s my report after building the profile…

I’m noticing that some of the device information and attributes show as Reflective and glossy, I’m wondering if that is the best setting considering I’m using a matt finish projection screen. Also my preferred gamma is 2.4 (as I watch in a very dark environment) but it seems the profile is targeting 2.2.

I’m very inexperienced with this stuff. Looking at the color gamut on the final report it looks like I’m only hitting about 80% of rec.709 (I’m assuming that’s what it says) and I assume that is because my screen is killing my reds.

    Any input/advice gladly appreciated.

Added the screen shots for my initial screen grayscale correction and my final gamut report.
