    Hey Guys,

sorry if this is a stupid question but it drives me crazy.

I know what metamerims failure is and had the first problem with it on my sony x940e and x900e TV.

I use as spectro the i1 pro 2 and as colorimeter the i1dp.

after calibration the x940e had a crazy red/blue tint compare to the x900e. the x900e looks more like my iphone display wich is called to have an outstandig accuracity.

    know i have the sony 85inch x95l.

Heres my problem. every review off the x95l claims that its very accurate and had only a little to much red gain(rtings review, hdtvpolska, classy, vincent from hdtvtest) and that the same what my spectro says. i only need to reduce red by -2 to get nearly perfect readings.

But it look very blueish compared to my iphone. to match them i need to reduce blue gain to -10.

my question is, is it maybe my iphone wich looks to green? because i dont think my tv is that much off compared to other reviewed x95l models.

side by side i feel that the iphone looks better as the tv feels to have a tint

    No.

It may have a superb gamma tracking, neutral grey but a “white” whitepoint (<3dE to daylight) but not D65. It looks “white” but may not be D65 1931 2 degree. It may be “very very closet to daylight curve but 6400K or 6700K”. It looks white and if grey tracking is superb it looks perfecly OK.

You cannot use it as a reference for white without measuring.

Where is this “much red”? Whitepoint? rec709 255 red?

measure iphone. Create custom CCSS 3nm (remote web measurement), measure white with i1d3+CCSS and i1pro2 (10nm, 3nm)

    Then compare.

Thank you very much for your response.

I take some messurement from the Iphone display with the calman software. the Greyscale are very good out off the box with all result below de 3.

The TV and The Phone match that but side by side the iphone looks more greenish

ist not a huge different and they match mutch better then my x940e wich looks mucgh more blue after calibration but still there is a different. Maybe my i1 pro 2 is not accurate enough
