I have been using DisplayCal with a Datacolor Spyder5 colorimeter to generate and load icc profiles for my laptop displays. I did not install the optional dependencies for Gnome or KDE from the Manjaro repository as I am using the Xfce desktop environment, with Linux kernel 5.0.1-1. Displaycal generates and loads the new profile, but it displays the error:
Colord: Querying for profile ‘icc …’ returned no result for 20 seconds.
A couple of discussions which I read (from several years ago) suggested that users of Xfce need to also install xicdd, e.g.,
    https://sourceforge.net/p/dispcalgui/discussion/932493/thread/68f520f7

is this still the recommended way to proceed? I would appreciate any further information on how to sort out the error. Here is a screen shot:

On the Xfce webpage blog Simon Steinbeiß talks about their development of a new front end for integrated colour management in Xfce, but he mentions that for now one can use xiccd for displays. Is the installation of xiccd the recommended way to resolve the colord error which I obtained above with DisplayCal?
