    I have already created a 3dlut for madvr why does it still say this?

    When madVR is active, it’s in control of the video card gamma tables. No outside programs must interfere.

    Ah, so it’s supposed to say that?  How do I know for sure that it’s working?

    Yes.

    How do I know for sure that it’s working?

    If you want a way to visually check, just assign one of the test profiles (“vcgt_cm_test_….icm”) that come with DisplayCAL, which introduce a strong color cast via the calibration. madVR then resets that to linear when running.
